Flutterwave is seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer with extensive NodeJS experience to join their dynamic team in Lekki, Lagos.

Requirements

5+ years of professional backend software development experience using Node.js in a production environment.
Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript for the backend (Node.js) [TypeScript is a plus]
A good demonstration of object-oriented or functional analysis and design skills.
Good understanding of data structures, algorithms and performance design.
Deep understanding of RESTful API design principles, authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth2), and security best practices.
Good working knowledge of version control systems (Git) workflows (branching models, pull requests, code reviews).
Proficient with relational databases (MySQL) and ORMs (Sequelize).
Proficient with non-relational databases (Mongo, Redis) and ODMs (Mongoose).
Good understanding of automated testing practices (unit testing, integration testing) and frameworks (Jest, Mocha).
Good problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
Ability to take ownership of tasks from spec to deployment
Clear verbal and written technical communication skills.
